Budget calculators
Small tools that answer one money question at a time. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — the arithmetic runs in your browser. When you want the answer to stick around month after month. Try it before you start to PAY/ATTN.
5 calculators
Each one answers a single question and nothing else. They read best in this order — what a month leaves you, what that is a day, whether one purchase fits — but they stand on their own.
- How much can I spend?Work out what is left for flexible spending each month once your bills, savings, debt payments and investments are accounted for.
- Daily spending limitTake what is left of this month's flexible spending, divide it by the days you have left, and see what that is a day.
- Can I afford it?Check one purchase against the money you have left this month, and see what it leaves for the days that follow.
- Savings goalSet an amount and a date, and see what it takes per month, per paycheck and per week to get there.
- Salary budgetTurn a salary at any pay frequency into a monthly take-home figure, split into essentials, saving and flexible spending.
What PAY/ATTN does with the answer
A calculator gives you one number, once. PAY/ATTN is where that number becomes a plan: count what is coming in, subtract the bills, set savings and investing aside first, and split what is left into a limit per category before the month starts. Then log what you spend against it, by hand, so you actually notice.
